The 350 hectares of land owned by the 100 winemakers at the Alice Bel Colle Winery annually produce over 32,000 quintals of grapes, less than 25% of which is bottled. The vineyards consist of 200 hectares of Moscato Bianco, the most prized variety, 60 hectares of Brachetto, 50 hectares of Barbera, and the remaining 40 hectares divided between Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Cortese, and other grapes: Barbera, Moscato, and Brachetto. Between the Alps and the Apennines, the Alice hill is a marvelous crossroads where diverse characteristics meet to define a single terroir. We are in the Alto Monferrato Acquese, immersed in an extraordinary landscape between the provinces of Alessandria and Asti. A look to the future: since 1955, the year of its foundation, while focusing primarily on Barbera, the winery has aimed to embrace the predisposition of its terroir through the production of sweet aromatic wines. Over time, this has become possible thanks to the introduction of increasingly sophisticated filtering systems and mechanical barriers, stainless steel tanks, cold storage rooms with a capacity of up to 22,000 hectoliters, and, in the last seven years, high-tech microfiltration, consistent with increasingly sustainable production. The areas most naturally suited to this prestigious wine remain cultivated with Barbera, enhanced by the terroir's natural predisposition to unleash an extraordinary olfactory intensity. Over half a century after its founding, the winery has undergone a marked evolution: today it is a place where excellence is achieved and expressed to outperform market competition, finding a synthesis of diversity. But it is also a driving force for research and development, with constant annual investments in technological innovation.
