The Canato estate is located in the hills of Vignale Monferrato. At its feet is the ancient "Fons Salera" (Salera Spring), then famous for its precious thermal water. In 1700, the historic fiefdom belonged to the nuns of the cloister of San Bartolomeo and, in 1740, the Bishop of Casale Monferrato, Monsignor P.G. Caravadossi purchased part of the estate: the so-called "Baldea". In the 1950s, the Canato family leased the estate. It soon realized the potential of the lands, with soils of excellent quality for the cultivation of vines, and so decided to purchase the entire property. Today, Marco Canato manages the entire estate, of 10 vine-planted hectares, where the vineyards are cultivated using rational methods to produce high-quality grapes.
