CASCINA MONTAGNOLA
![]()
All the vineyards extend behind the main house in a single block at an altitude of approximately 150-160 meters above sea level and face south, southwest. The predominantly clayey soil composition, on a marly-clayey substratum, guarantees an impressive structure and very long-lived wines. The only historic vineyard at our site is one hectare of Barbera and dates back to the 1950s, according to the memory of the Viguzzolese people, whom we like to call "our warriors," vines that have battled decades of harsh weather and dry summers, but still give us our Rodeo today. In 1990, Cortese and small plots of Croatina and Chardonnay were planted. In 2003, the first Timorasso vineyard was planted, and in 2008, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The new Timorasso plantation of approximately 2 hectares dates back to 2018.
