In the late 19th century, Cavalier Stefano Vercesi decided to modify the recipe for the already famous "Lady's Kisses," replacing the hazelnuts with almonds and adding cocoa to the soft dough. Thus, the "Golden Kisses" were born. Patenting them was a brilliant idea, making them truly original. Presented at the Milan International Fair in 1906, they won the gold medal, the highest pastry award of the time.
