AZ. AGR. ARTUFFO AGOSTINO

In the heart of Monferrato, on the border between the provinces of Alessandria and Asti, Renzo Artuffo raises only Tonchese chickens: bare-necked roosters, hens, and capons. He also raises common grey guinea fowl, using completely natural methods. He feeds them exclusively on non-GMO corn and soy grown on the farm. To ensure full control of the supply chain, in 2006 he established a small CE-certified slaughterhouse and an on-site shop (open Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm). The chickens are sold whole, cut up, or processed into ready-to-cook products such as roulades, skewers, arrosticini, and hamburgers. Also worth a try are the eggs, agnolotti with Tonchese meat and eggs, and imaginative delicacies preserved in glass jars, such as chicken liver pâté or Tonchese hens ragù.
