Little shortbread-like biscuits
These biscuits are prepared in a few bakeries in the Novi and Ovada areas.
This recipe is similar to one used in Castelnuovo Scrivia to make “braciaret” (bracelets). So-called because, they were made in the shape of a bracelet and given to altar boys during long religious services at Christmas.
The ingredients in these rustic biscuits are rather unusual (olive oil and white wine). In this simple, old-fashioned recipe, the biscuits are baked in an oven. In some areas of Novi and Ovada, they are boiled.
