Ovada, la storia ti guida

A route which aims to introduce us to a historical reality: that of Ovada, from the castle to its Paleontological Museum, a true unique example of a church of the 300’s ... This is a small town to ride through culturally. So  now we go by bicycle to explore some of the curious hillside contrasts! Departing from Piazza Castello of Ovada,  go in direction of Rocca Grimalda, turn right just past the bridge over the river Orba. Continue along  a flat road for about 6 km and turn left in the direction of St. James. The road climbs gently for about 6 km to the village of Cascina Vecchia. Here reaching the crossroads  roads (which we will re-encounter on our return) turn right in the direction of Mantua. A long, almost straight section which leads us to the  gates of the small town, where we turn left for  the borough of Gaggina. The road returns by going up for about 4 km, we cross the village and take direction to Madonna della Villa and subsequently Cascina Vecchia. returning to the crossroads, but at this point we turn right towards Carpeneto. Go through the center of Carpeneto and continue in the direction of Santo Stefano, and with a good long descent back to Ovada. By Di Giuseppe Rossi
