Museo Etnografico della Civiltà Contadina di Orsara Bormida
The Orsara Bormida Museum, housed in the town hall, was established in 1996 by a group of volunteers following the donation of ancient agricultural objects by locals and others. It houses testimonies of the rural culture that characterized our area for centuries and which definitively disappeared after the end of World War II. It is also a community center managed by the Association, which organizes exhibitions and events aimed at promoting the area. The museum is managed by the Ursaria Association, local representatives of the former elementary school, and houses a large collection of documents and relics from past centuries relating to the Orsara Bormida people's participation in wars, from the Renaissance to the World Wars. Among the most important paper documents are Bernardo Zambado's diary, as well as documents relating to immigration to Argentina in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which involved a large portion of the population. There is a section dedicated to the peasant home, featuring prestigious pieces of antique women's and men's underwear, as well as household items and personal hygiene items. Finally, there is a collection of work tools used in the fields, vineyards, stables, and cellars.
