Up and down the hills from Moncalvo towards Grazzano, home to the Tomb of Aleramo, you'll encounter characteristic UNESCO World Heritage villages built in stone by Cantoni, such as Moleto and Olivola, where legend has it the Saracen treasure is hidden. Route verified and mapped by Marco Demaria. Attractions

Depart from the Square of Moncalvo and head towards Grazzano; just before the town turn left towards Madonna dei Monti (you can make an excursion to the tomb of Aleramo in the hamlet of Grazzano); from the top of the Madonna dei Monti you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Monferrato hills. Go downhill towards Ottiglio and enter the Unesco Heritage villages of characteristic construction in cantoni stone (tuff); from here you reach Moleto (visit the small center); we recommend an excursion to the picturesque village of Olivola, and then back on the road towards Frassinello; from here descend into the Ghenza valley and go uphill towards Camagna, a scenic route along which you reach Vignale (we recommend a visit to the many squares,in the high one is Palazzo Callori at an advanced stage of restoration). From Vignale proceed towards Casorzo and then to Grana. From here, in the direction of Calliano and on to the station at Tonco, then uphill and back to Alfiano Natta and, from there, return to the starting point at Moncalvo.
