Ecomuseo Cascina Moglioni
The Ecomuseum is located in the heart of the Capanne di Marcarolo Nature Park, close to cascina Benedicta, symbolic site of the partisan struggle of this corner of the Apennines. The easy trail sets off from opposite the Memorial, crosses a beautiful chestnut wood and leads to the visitor center of Cascina Moglioni in 10 minutes. Built in a typical farmhouse of the area of Capanne di Marcarolo, the Ecomuseum offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the distinctive features of the local rural settlements and to observe and discover the magnificent centuries-old chestnut trees and their ancient use. Ecomuseums aim to protect and promote the historical memory and the material culture of the area, finalized at developing sustainable local economic development, also through the involvement of the resident population. Guided tours to the farmhouse and its outbuildings with the centuries-old chestnut trees, the fruit orchard, the wetland area and the Theater of Nature. Admission: €2 (Opening by appointment at other times of the year)
